The Dictionary means

Image
What does it mean to praise and worship Almighty God, the God of the Bible? Worship, according to the dictionary means: • to show profound religious devotion • to have intense love and admiration Praise, on the other hand, means: • to express admiration or approval for • to express thanks and worship to God In other words, praise and worship go hand in hand. Praising and worshiping God is not about a ritual, or prayer repetition. It’s not about spending a few minutes a day reading our bible or about reciting our wish list on a daily basis. True worship requires total commitment of our body, mind and spirit. It’s about exalting, adoring and acknowledging the God of the Bible. It has nothing to do with religion, but it has everything to do with having an intimate and profound relationship with God - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Our God Reign

Image
40 million babies lost to Gods great orphanage, It's a modern day genocide and a modern day disgrace If this is a human right then why aren't we free? The only freedom we have is in a man nailed to a tree. 100 million faces, staring at the sky, Wondering if this HIV will ever pass us by. The devil stole the rain and hope trickles down the plug, But still my Chinese take away could pay for someone's drugs. Our God reigns, Our God reigns, Forever your kingdom reigns. The west has found a gun and it's loaded with 'unsure' Nip and tuck if you have the bucks in a race to find a cure. Psalm one hundred and thirty nine is the conscience to our selfish crime, God didn't screw up when he made you, He's a father who loves to parade you. Yes he reigns, yes you reign, yes you reign, For there is only one true God, But we've lost the reins on this world, Forgive us all, forgive us please, As we fight for this broken world on our knees.

Why is faith important for salvation?

In Luke 17:5 , "the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith." Why did they ask that? Because they understood that faith was a key element in their relationship with God. Abraham is called the father of faith, and he was forgiven (or justified) before God because he showed in his life that nothing was more precious to him than to have faith and trust in God. His faith was severely tried though before he received this title. Abraham fathered Isaac, after waiting for this son of promise for almost half a century. When Isaac became a teenager, God told Abraham, "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering." What an incredible request from God! But Abraham

SUPER BOOK "THE BIBLE'"

WHAT IS THE BIBLE? The Bible is a Book of Books-66 Books in fact. The word Bible is a plural word meaning Books. The 66 Books form one Book called THE BIBLE. About 40 different men wrote those 66 books over a period of 1600 years. Obviously they could not have been alive at the same time and hence, they could not have consulted one another about the things they were writing. Even then they all agree perfectly in all the different things they wrote over long period of time. The 40 different authors of the Bible were different kind of men all together and from all classes of society. Among writers of the Old Testament, Moses was well educated, good administrator and leader of people. There were David and Solomon, they were powerful kings of Israel. Daniel, carried away from his home into exile, who rose to be Prime Minister in Govt. of Babylone. Amos was a shepherd who has no desire to be a Prophet, but what a fearless one he was. There was Ezra, an official in the court of t

SUPER BOOK

FOR ME? How many books do you suppose there are in this world? Think of all the story books, school books, encyclopediates, comic books, travel books, picture books, and Library books. You could not even begin to count all the books, let alone read them, and you wouldn't need to, and many of them are not written for you. But there is one book, the name of which is Bible. The Bible is like a letter to you from a special person, the God of this great universe, in which you live. In it He tells a lot of things about yourself, about Himself, about the world in which you live, about things that happened in the past and about things which will yet happen in the future. But most inmportant, in the Bible God tells you about His Love for the peopole of this world, so that in every genuine sense the Bible is God's Love Letter to you. It is always an exiting experience to open God's letter to you and read what he has to say. You will want to read it again and again and see ev

Stress: Matter of Choice - Christian Emotional Wellness

Image
Stress: A Matter of Choice -Christian Emotional Wellness By Linda Goldfarb Certified Physical Fitness Specialist Too often we are frantic to speed things up, determined to cram big things into small spaces, and forever trying to be everything to everyone, only to realize it’s an impossible task, leaving us frustrated and stressed out. Let's look at some principles of Christian emotional wellness. I’m reminded in Isaiah 58:11, “ The Lord will guide you always… You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail .” We are to lean on God in all things, as He will provide all of our needs. So instead of looking at the rest of this year as being full of “stress opportunities,” I wanted to share these “stress reducers.” I’m not sure where I first saw a similar list; this is definitely not an original concept. I have made a few changes, reflecting more of my personality. Cut these out and place them on your refrigerator or bathroom mirro

Psalm 23 a life story with a happy ending

BACKGROUND :- written by David - the shepherd of the nation of Israel and an heir of the Great Shepherd of the sheep, Jesus. It might have been composed while David was a boy, watching his father's flocks (1 Samuel 16:10,11), or later in his life, based on his earlier experiences. UNDERSTANDING :- Verses 1-4:- speak of the good shepherd. David describes vividly his sense of the fullness of God's care by using the metaphor of a shepherd who supplies his sheep with everything needed for their well being. 1-3 God , my shepherd! I don't need a thing.    You have bedded me down in lush meadows,       you find me quiet pools to drink from.    True to your word,       you let me catch my breath       and send me in the right direction.   4 Even when the way goes through       Death Valley,    I'm not afraid       when you walk at my side.    Your trusty shepherd's crook       makes me feel secure.  Verse 5 & 6 presents God as the good h
